A Global Hub for SDG Monitoring

Sustainable Development Goals is recognized as a global hub inspired by the HLPF model, dedicated to SDG monitoring, reporting, and multi-stakeholder collaboration. Our mission is to provide transparent platforms and tools that help countries and stakeholders

  • Track and report progress on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Promote transparency and accountability in SDG implementation.
  • Foster innovative partnerships that accelerate sustainability outcomes.

We deliver a multi-stakeholder platform modeled after the HLPF, enabling governments, organizations, and civil society to monitor, review, and fast-track progress toward the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Governance Framework

The governance of the HLPF shapes how we operate as an SDG-focused organization, ensuring alignment with UN structures and processes.

  • Annual sessions under the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

  • Quadrennial SDG Summits under the UN General Assembly (UNGA).

These sessions bring together governments, private sector leaders, academia, civil society organizations, and global experts to evaluate progress, identify bottlenecks, and strengthen global partnerships for sustainable development.

What We Do

As an active contributor to the HLPF, Sustainable Development Goals works to:

Promote policy leadership and inclusive review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Showcase integrated action across the social (Goal 1: No Poverty, Goal 5: Gender Equality), environmental (Goal 13: Climate Action, Goal 14: Life Below Water), and economic (Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) pillars.

High-Level Political Forum Timeline (2013–2027)

The HLPF, established at the Rio+20 Conference in 2012 and formally launched in 2013, serves as the UN’s central platform for reviewing and advancing the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Each year, it convenes governments, civil society, and other stakeholders to:

  • Assess progress on the SDGs.
  • Share innovative solutions and best practices.
  • Conduct Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs).
  • Strengthen partnerships through science-based thematic dialogues.
